LaMontagne Gallery is pleased to announce the opening of reception of While You Were Sleeping, an exhibition featuring works displayed during the COVID-19 epidemic shutdown. This group show is the first opportunity to revisit works unable to be viewed in person as a group due to the pandemic.

Starting at 6:30 pm there will be a talk between Steve Locke and Pieranna Cavalchini on the occasion of Locke’s newest catalog release, Homage to the Auction Block. Pieranna Cavalchini is the Tom and Lisa Blumenthal Curator of Contemporary Art, Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, Boston. She curated exhibitions and projects for Joan Jonas, Judith Barry, Maurizio Cannavacciuolo, Sophie Calle and Elaine Reichek among many others. She also worked closely with Steve when he was artist-in-residence at the museum and produced Three Deliberate Grays for Freddie (A Memorial for Freddie Gray) for the museum’s facade. Steve and Pieranna will discuss the influence of color theory and his time at Mrs. Gardner’s on the current series, Homage to the Auction Block.

Artists featured in the show include: Erik Benson, Sean Downey, Kim Faler, Steve Locke, Jason Middlebrook, Todd Pavlisko, Jeff Perrott, Rosie Ranauro, Matt Rich, Daniel Ranalli, Daniela Rivera, Joe Wardwell, and Michael Wetzel
