Lamontagne Gallery is please to announce an exhibition of paintings by Brendan O'Connell entitled, “Walmart Paintings” After spending seven years honing his skills in Europe, Brendan O’Connell returned to America and took up the enormous task of interpreting the Nation’s most visited and ubiquitous architecture, that of Walmart. Like the post impressionists who focused on the Parisian boulevards, O’Connell focuses on the boulevards and arcades under the single roof of the superstore that is Walmart.
Brendan O’Connell (b. 1968) lives and works in Cornwall, CT. He received a BA from Emory University in Philosophy and Spanish. His work has been the subject of solo exhibitions at Refined Nest Gallery, Shanghai and Morgan Lehman Gallery, New York City. He has also been included in exhibitions at the Fresno Met, Hudson River Gallery, and Artcore Gallery, Toronto. His work has been reviewed in Art in America and Flash Art.
Founded in 2007, LaMontagne Gallery is a 2,300 square foot exhibition space located in South Boston on East Second Street. Russell LaMontagne was previously co-Founder of LFL Gallery in New York City.
